One certificate used for Software Updates of Apple expires by a mistake

Apparently, Apple has not properly managed the renovation of one of the digital certificates of the servers used in Software Updates, which has expired. Because of this, Software Updates stopped working with that server.

The use of the right digital certificates to distribute security updates is essential to preven Evil Grade attacks that may allow an attacker to introduce Trojan on the machine pretending to be a successful upgrade.
