Google strengthens the two-step verification with USB technology

« Go back

Google has decided to go further and complement the two-step verification with a second factor (USB) to prevent cyber criminals from infecting user devices and stealing information or money.

This second factor works only after verifying that the place to be logged is really a Google website. All that is needed here is to combine the navigation process with the Chrome browser and have a compatible USB device with U2F protocol, which is what Google uses for his new invention. Those who prefer may continue to use the two-step verification as usual.
