On October 23rd, the 7th Congress of ISACA Barcelona took place at the Citilab of Cornellà, Barcelona, of which vintegrisTECH was a sponsor together with Deloitte, Auren, Prosegur, OptimumTIC, Andornet and ÍTACA. With the title “Disruptive technologies and privacy in a digital society”, this event brought together industry experts, senior executives of leading companies, more than 190 congressmen and a large number of institutions belonging to the public sector.

Joan Barceló, President of ISACA Barcelona, presented and closed the Congress. For his part, Ramsés Gallego, Vice President, acted as master of ceremony. The inauguration was in charge of Mr Xavier Gatius, General Secretary of the Department of Digital Policies and Public Administration, who spoke about the importance of information technologies, the relevant role of professionals in the sector and the Spanish Government’s firm commitment to shore up government action in new technologies.

In addition to the presentations, was a workshop “Transformation: Applying the four dimensions of digital transformation in a real case”, by Juan Trujillo, Restless for Digital Transformation and Best Practices. This workshop served to give a vision of gamification that would help to raise awareness and understanding of complex standards and regulations.

Privacy in the times of disruptive technologies

The papers dealt with the delicate balance between different technologies and their effects on the privacy of users and society. They were in charge of Fran García, representative of the working group Agriculture 4.0 of the commission Industry 4.0 of the Engineers of Catalunya; Andreu Bravo, Risk Advisory-Cybersecurity Partner, partner of Deloitte; Pablo Ballarín, from Balusian; Ramón Miralles, professional partner in Ecix Group Privacy, Risk & Compliance; Ramsés Gallego, Strategist & Evangelist, Office of the CTO of Symantec and Past President of ISACA Barcelona; Nacho Alamillo, PhD and Lawyer of the Illustrious College of Reus, Director of Astrea La Infopista Jurídica and CISO Logalty Servicios de Tercero de Confianza; and Oscar Alonso, Data Management & Analytics Technical Manager at everis.

For its part, the roundtable was entitled “DPO: At the limit of the impossible”, and was moderated by Belén Durán, from ISACA Barcelona. Excellent professionals accompanied her: Patricia Casado, DPD Feria de Barcelona; Xavi Vila, DPO & Infosec Specialist of Caja de Ingenieros Group; Lluis Sanz, DPD City Council of Barcelona; and Jaume Magret, of FGC-Ferrocarrils Computer Service of the Generalitat. All of them have an insight into the complexity of the performance of their profession and the adaptation to the new RGPD regulation, of different certifications and the relationship with the departments within their company.
